Christmas Ships

Margaret Margaret December 24, 2010 9 Comments

Did you hear the singers on the Christmas Ship last night on Lake Union?  We did, and we live halfway on top of the hill!  It’s always a little (disconcerting?) hearing the voices at first, because we immediately think one of our kids got up out of bed and turned on the TV; and we freeze, trying to determine which of them will be busted until my husband asks, “Wait a minute, is that the Christmas Ship?” and I say, “Oh yeah, that’s right!”

Well, while we were enjoying the audio portion of the program, folks down in lower Wallingford were also treated to the lights.  And reader “B. Fox” sent us some neat photos to share.  Click on the photos to take a bigger look!

Thanks, B!

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised! It was so quiet and still last night (no wind, no rain, no traffic) that it was pretty loud here (midway up the hill), so I can believe the singing made it all the way up to you!

It was clear as the bells they were ringing on Thackeray and 47th. I was tucked into bed and just enjoyed it. I had no idea it was the Christmas Ships.

I had no idea where it was coming from, so it kind of freaked me out. I had to go do a pet sit at 10pm, so I drove around a few blocks trying to figure out where it was coming from. I thought maybe it was coming from Hamilton Middle School, but it wasn’t, and then it stopped. I was so confused! And darn, I could’ve run down to Gasworks to watch had I know.

    Thanks for posting this! =)

Heard it all the way up by Woodland Park. Took a while to figure it out, then enjoyed it.

@Terry: Poor word choice is one of the (dis) advantages to writing a blog post at 1 a.m. so it could hit first thing! (Blush)
