Uptown Espresso burglarized

Margaret Margaret June 11, 2011 7 Comments

We just heard word from reader Andrew that the Uptown Espresso on 45th was burglarized last night:

The manager said it seemed pretty sophisticated – the phone line had been cut so the security system didn’t work. The front door was smashed and cash was taken. They are open for business as usual today.

That sounds like the same MO of the people that broke into the Atlantic Crossing and some other Ravenna area places a few weeks back. Phone cut etc.

Hey Jordan I’ve seen a older Winabago in the hood for about a month. It moves around to different streets in Wallingford. Whoever this is I think they live in the Winabago. Just saying I don’t know who they are or what they are doing here. I lost my rod iron patio furniture a week or so ago from my salon. I thinks this is getting a little crazy. I just got a alarm but in my salon.

I heard a bunch of businesses on fremont ave had the same kind of break ins. Perhaps talk to them about maybe seeing the same motorhome in their area. Paseo’s & Uneeda burger are the businesses I had overheard about.

That is so sad. New businesses are trying to move into Wallingford, and this kind of crap happens. Makes me MAD.

Holly at Sock Monster told me yesterday that some of the businesses in her building (NotANumber, Fainting Goat, Joule, Tea House Kuan Yin) think that someone has attempted to break in to that building for a second time.

I wen tto pick up my mails from Wallingford PO this morning at 8 am. It was VERY clear due to personal effects: backpack, shoes, socks, jacket, food and a bag of groceries etc.. that someone had either come in to sleep or crash this early morning or last night. That makes your and my maiail inPO boxes not so secure.

I called the non-emergency number of police and go ta veyr lukewarm response..” did you see the person?”. No, I did not. I di dnot choose to risk my self to look around the corner and possibly endanger myself .
