Izilla to close Capitol Hill store, staying in Wallingford Center

Margaret Margaret July 23, 2011 Comments are off

We received the following email this morning from Jude LaRene of Izilla Toys:

Hello there,  Izilla Toys is consolidating its retail efforts into one store. We will be closing our Capitol Hill store at the end of August and moving Izilla Toys World Headquarters to our Wallingford Center store. While this is a little sad for us, we are excited to embark on a new adventure in cooperation with our Wallingford store called the Peace Play Collaborative. Please see the attached email for more a detailed description what’s happening inside Izilla Toys, a great event we have coming up, and a big sale to welcome Izilla Wallingford as our World Headquarters. With one store to focus on we will be able to offer many more community events and be the awesome retail store we are always striving to be.

In an email to customers, LaRene explains the Peace Play Collaborative:

We are excited to continue the Izilla Toys legacy in Wallingford Center and want to announce that we will soon open The Peace Play Collaborative (The PPC ) in The Walllingford Center.  The PPC will offer small and large affordable study and studio spaces for tutors, music teachers, art teachers, dance and music instructors, community leaders, etc. It also has a large rentable space for ongoing kids’ related group classes and one time events such as parties, meetings, book clubs, the sky’s the limit! We will even be able to offer drop in play times for a nominal fee per child when the space isn’t reserved!

These changes are really exciting and will allow the Izilla family to spend more time together (yeah!) and spend our time and energies on making Izilla Toys everything we always wanted it to be, an awesome store and an active community partner.

We’ll post more information about Izilla’s Picnic Party #3, happening this Thursday, July 28 on the outside patio at the Wallingford Center. Izilla will also be holding a Store Opening Sale that runs from Thursday, July 28 through Sunday, July 31. Stay tuned!
