Muddy Cup Closure

Margaret December 22, 2011 19 Comments

If you’ve tried to get your usual morning coffee at A Muddy Cup these last few days, you’ve no doubt seen the sign on the front door indicating that they’re closed until further notice.

We contacted owner Sarah Dolezal who explained that she’s going through some “serious health issues” right now. Her partner, Mathew, is taking care of her while she’s down for the count. She did say, though, that they’ll reopen after New Year’s.

Margaret December 21, 2011 4 Comments

Amy wrote, “All that I know about the accident is that the driver hit the curb, probably making a turn, and one of the wheels exploded and the car flipped over. There were several police cars and a fire truck or two blocking the intesection of Burke and 45th for all westbound traffic.”

Thanks, Amy, for sharing the photo with us! …

Holiday Lights Recycling

barbbsea December 21, 2011 Comments are off

Update: The Girl Scout office accepts light strings for recycling only during their office hours Dec. 27-30, so call 800-767-6845  before you try to drop them off.  Barb’s offer to pick up your lights before the 30th still stands (see her email below).

Do you feel guilty about sending those burned out strings of holiday lights to the landfill? Plus that extra weight in your garbage can will hurt Wallingford’s numbers in the “Think Green Recycling Challenge.”

Now is your chance to get those dim lights out of your house and to a better, greener end.

Point Defiance Zoo is …
