Wallingford Walks

Margaret Margaret April 4, 2012 Comments are off

The 2012 Wallingford Walks season kicks-off on Saturday, April 14. Each month the walks feature different themes that offer a glimpse on some of the cool things happening around the neighborhood, beginning with Sustainable Landscaping. Here’s the scoop:

Saturday, April 14, from 10:00 – 12:00 – Sustainable Landscaping: Join an expert from Seattle Tilth http://seattletilth.org/ on a tour of Wallingford to discuss examples of sustainable landscaping. The topics will range from rain gardens, creative replacements for grass, rain collection, native plants, edible perennials, creative re-use of materials, and anything else that comes up along the way. The walk will start outside of Tully’s, 2100 North 45th Street, at 10:00 am, and will cover approximately three miles at a leisurely pace over approximately 2 hours.

Here’s the full schedule of walks through August:

    • April 14 2012 – Sustainable Landscaping
    • May 12th 2012 – Taste of Wallingford
    • June 9th 2012 – Birds, Bees, and Maybe a Goat
    • July 14th 2012 Green Homes of Wallingford
    • August 11th 2012 Craftsman Home Tour
