“Celebrate One Wallingford” This Thursday

Margaret Margaret December 10, 2012 2 Comments

A few of Wallingford’s talented musicians

Last week, we told you to save the date for “Celebrate One Wallingford” – a party to celebrate our community together, but it bears repeating because of all the cool activities that are planned for the event. One of the highlights of the evening will be an all-neighborhood-inclusive musical component, and last year, it was great fun to watch neighborhood adults and kids demonstrate their musical talents. Here’s a note from the organizers (with a shout-out to folks who’d like to perform during the party):

We hope you’re planning to join us for “Celebrate One Wallingford – a Seasonal Open House” this coming Thursday, Dec. 13th from 5:30-8PM. This seasonal party will feature music performed by your neighbors, activities for kids of every age, the return of cookie-decorating – and of course, sweet & savory fare to taste and beverages for adults & kids to sip! We want this to be easy and low-stress – so come by for a little bit or a while to enjoy and get a shot of positive holiday energy.

While this is a party and time to relax – a giving tree will invite donations to support WCSC’s programs and neighbors among us who are less fortunate at this time of year. This purpose is all about Building Community Across Generations– which is front and center in WCSC’s mission.

We’re still looking for volunteer musicians (including kids!) to come perform at the event. Please contact Kathleen Cromp ([email protected] or 206-461-7825) if you’d like to perform! Due to space and other constraints, minimal set up is best. No amplified music.

What: Celebrate One Wallingford

When: Thursday, December 13, 5:30pm – 8:00pm

Where: Wallingford Community Senior Center, Good Shepherd Center, lower level, 4649 Sunnyside Avenue N. (map)
