Salon Metro

Margaret Margaret December 6, 2012 Comments are off

‘Tis the season for giving, even if it’s a set of hotel soaps you brought home from your last trip. Salon Metro (1714 N. 45th) is collecting toiletries the Orion Center and Youth Care Transitional Living Program to benefit the homeless and those in need. Here’s a few ideas for items on their wish list:

The shelter requests unopened shampoo, conditioner. straighteners, curlers, razors, plus soap for faces and bodies. Full size or travel size from your last hotel trip is fine. Also, if you have unused makeup, please consider donating that for these homeless teens who are struggling to stay in school and find jobs.

Items that would help teens and young adults to get back on their feet and be presentable for job interviews are needed: soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, brushes, combs, etc. You may even have received Christmas gifts that you would rather pass on, like perfume or make up.

Salon Metro is open Tuesday-Friday, from 10:00am to 7:00pm, and Saturday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and there will be a collection box in the salon. The salon’s number is 206-545-6905.
