Hip-Hoppin’ Ultra Fly

The Hallows Church, a gospel church “in the process of being planted in the Fremont/Wallingford neighborhood” (renting space from but unaffiliated with the Fremont Baptist Church at 717 N 36th St) is holding a swing-dancing fundraiser for Family Works this Thursday, Dec 20th starting at 6:30 pm. Kim writes:

I just wanted to let your blog/our community know about an event taking place on December 20th from 6:30-9:00 pm to benefit Family Works in Wallingford. It’s a swing dance at 717 n 36th St with live music by The Swingsette, free instruction (6:30-7:30pm), and refreshments. The suggested admission is simply baby wipes/size 4-6 diapers, which will be donated to Family Works.

Here’s a bit on their story, from their web site:

The Hallows Church is in the process of being planted in the Fremont/Wallingford neighborhoods of Seattle, Washington. In April of 2011, we began gathering as a band of Christ-followers to discern God’s direction for our lives individually and as a community. We discovered our hearts beating in harmony with the desire to explore the depths of the gospel and its comprehensive claims on our lives. God began assembling individuals together with a shared passion and vision for the future. As we continued praying and studying Scripture together, we found ourselves compelled by the glory of the gospel to begin serving various groups and individuals in the Fremont/Wallingford area. In so doing, our love for these neighborhoods and the city of Seattle as a whole increased exponentially. We are moving into the future eagerly anticipating the various ways in which God will enable us to magnify and to multiply the gospel all throughout this wonderful city.

Get your God on.
