All ya gotta do is ‘Knoq’

Margaret Margaret February 22, 2013 1 Comment

When you’re looking for recommendations for a particular service for your home–say, a roofer, a house painter, a plumber–who better to ask for a referral than your neighbors? That’s the thinking behind Knoq.com, a new website that connects neighbors to local businesses.

Knoq is a locally-owned free service to help folks get things done around the house by providing recommendations to local businesses. Sign up here and once you do, you’ll see names and locations of other neighbors using Knoq in Wallingford, and you can ask people for a recommendation. You can also take advantage of the various neighborhood offers available on the site. What’s unique is that Knoq has vetted local businesses (so far, between 50-55) to ensure they are licensed, insured, and to see what sorts of reviews they’ve gotten from users. And Knoq offers a money back guarantee (up to $300) if users have a problem with one of the vetted businesses. So, not only do they want to help you get things done around the house, they also want to recommend quality businesses to help get things done right the first time.

Below is a short video that explains Knoq. Can’t see the video below? Click here.

i did not like that my name and adress were displayed and there were no privacy controls. i promptly deleted my account – which required a personal e-mail to knoq. that was a couple months ago – perhaps things have changed.
