Gas Works Park’s new playground is open

Katy October 7, 2018 2 Comments

Neighborhood children rejoice! Just in time for the start of the rainy season, the new playground at Gas Works Park is open for business.

I took my little ones to the park to get their take on the new facilities, and was told it gets “eighty thousand thumbs up!”

There are large and small climbing structures, a couple of slides, a swinging net big enough for multiple children, a super-popular spinning climber, and even a lovely patio for parents to sit and enjoy the fine views.

Once the Wallingford Playfield closes for construction, this will be our new neighborhood destination for active, outdoor fun.

Additionally, construction is slated to begin soon to renovate the comfort station (the bathrooms by the east entrance to the park), which will make the park even more accessible and appealing to everyone.

Thank you re info. Yes, the rainy season is here, too bad. Have you been to the park? In anothe rneighborhood info site someone posted that people had tents up in the open grassy field- 3 or 4 of them. Are they still there? ( Comment re comments still an option.)
