Glenn Singer - Glenn has worked in the residential and commercial construction industry for over 50 years. He started his career with Owens Corning where he held the positions of salesman, Branch Manager and Director of Builder Marketing. After 25 years he joined CertainTeed Corporation where he was Director of Marketing and Director of Building Science. Before retiring, Glenn also served as the Chief Executive Officer for Builder Partnerships, a firm that negotiated and managed rebates for over 500 home builders in the United States and Canada. He currently works with building material manufacturers assisting them to develop and implement successful builder strategies and programs. Glenn has served as Chairman of the National Council of the Housing Industry (NCHI), the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) council for manufacturers as well as a member of NAHB’s Executive Committee. In addition, he has been a member of NAHB’s Energy and Research committees as well as a member of the NAHB Research Center’s Board of Directors. Glenn received the coveted “Member of Distinction” award from NCHI for his continuous leadership and contributions to NCHI and NAHB.

Join us on a family-friendly walk along Lake Union to learn about the public access points on Lake Union.

When: 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Rain or shine.

Where: Waterway 15 (Next to Ivar’s on the west, NE Northlake Way/4th Ave NE). We’ll meet down at the lake by the wooden bench.  Then about 9:15 a.m., we’ll begin to work our way west toward Waterway 22 (the bottom of Stone Way). For those so inclined, join us after the walk for a beer at the Fremont Brewery.

Volunteers Install New Paving For The Nickelsville Community

On Saturday, September 8 volunteers from the Wallingford Community Council (WCC) and the University Sunrise Rotary Club joined together to install a finished gravel paving for the sanctioned Nickelsville homeless community located off of Northlake Avenue across from Ivar’s in Wallingford.

Lee Raaen, from the Rotary Club said the genisis of the project began when the Rotary asked the leadership of the Nickelsville community how it could help them get settled in the Wallingford community.  The …

UPDATED: Homeless Navigation Team Has Dialogue With The Wallingford Community Council

On Wednesday, September 5, the Wallingford Community Council  hosted the City of Seattle’s Homeless Navigation Team for a discussion on the homeless issue, unsanctioned camping, illegal camping, potential solutions to the homeless problem and a question and answer session.

Historic Wallingford’s Launch Party is a Whopping Success – Standing Room Only

Historic Wallingford held it’s official launch on Saturday, January 6 at The Good Shepherd Center. It was attended by more than 140 people who came to learn of the new organization’s mission and of it’s planned activities. Most of the attendees haled from Wallingford but I personally talked with folks who came from Queen Anne, Ravenna and Ballard showing the interest that Seattleites have in learning and perpetuating the history of our great city.
