City Council candidate Jon Grant will be coming to Wallingford for the second time this week.  If you missed him at the candidate forum in Wallingford on Thursday, there is another opportunity for Wallingford folks to meet him this Sunday, September 17th.

Find It, Fix It Walk Follow Up: Community Grant for $5,000 available & Video Coverage of the Walk

In conjunction with the recent Find It, Fix It Community Walk that occurred in Wallingford on March 14th, the City of Seattle is offering a $5,000 grant to the Wallingford community for a limited period of time following the walk.  The grant is to “support community-led revitalization and beautification projects.”  To encourage participation, the City recently extended the deadline for the grant to April 12th.  To find out more information or apply for the grant, click on this link.  Please contact Paige Madden at [email protected] or (206) 233-5166 for additional questions.

Mayor coming to Wallingford for the Find It Fix It Walk on March 14th

The Mayor and many department heads from the City of Seattle will be coming to Wallingford for the Find It, Fix It Community Walk.  The event is open to the public and will start in Woodland Park at the corner of 50th and Greenlake Way North.  Refreshments will be served at 5:00-5:30 PM and the walk is 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.  If you have concerns you would like to share with the City, now is your chance!

City Looking for Suggestions for Mayor’s Find It, Fix It Community Walk

The Mayor is scheduled to visit Wallingford in the near future for a Find It, Fix It Community Walk (exact date TBD).  In preparation for the walk, the city is asking residents of Wallingford to identify places in the neighborhood that need “fixing.”

In 2014, Mayor Ed Murray initiated the Find It, Fix It Community Walks, a series of Mayor-led walks that aim to improve neighborhoods one block at a time. Upzones: Important Public Hearing for the University District on November 16th

The University District is one of the first neighborhoods planned for rezones, and the city wants to go big.  How big?  Think the UW Tower big.  Up to 320 feet, and that’s not including any possible height bonuses.  Ten feet is roughly equivalent to one story, so 320 feet would equal about 32 stories.  That’s about three to four times higher than what is currently allowed.  The area planned for these massive rezones is roughly from NE 50th Street to the Ship Canal and from I-5 to 15th Avenue NE.  All of this is in addition to an impressive addition …
