Gypsy Cafe and Pub: New Menu

In June, I reported that the ol' Gypsy Trader/Gypsy Java had new owners, and that in the future there would be a new menu.  And now there is.  Plus, another new name:  The Gypsy Cafe and Pub. Co-owner Ben Steele contacted Wallyhood last week to tell us about some of the changes: "We bulked up the menu by adding Boar's Head meats, some new sandwiches and other items and designed a new handout menu. We are now open until midnight on Friday…

This is King County's first swing at an all mail-in general election, so hold on to the ballot you received in your mail. If you're confused about how to vote, here are some handy voter guides you can reference: Jabe Blumenthal's Voter Guide: Matt L. sent us a link to this one. Who's Jabe? Apparently, the guy who invented the role of Program Manager at Microsoft. So, smart guy. Politically progressive. The Stranger's Endorsements: Obviously progressive. DOUG.'s Voter Guide: DOUG. is…

Looking through the list of shows at The Chapel Performance Space in the Good Shepherd Center (4649 Sunnyside Ave. N), we noticed that our old friend Gretchen Yanover is opening up for Rachel Grimes this Thursday, 10/22 at 8 pm. Gretchen's music is stunningly lovely and hypnotic, looped cello layered over and around itself in a warm soundscape and musical stroll. We don't know Rachel Grimes, but from the buzz we hear, we ought to. Unlike most of the shows in…
