Wally-ween Weekend – For Grownups

(Updated 4:12 p.m.) Since Halloween falls on a Sunday this year, it's become an Über holiday--jam-packed with activities all weekend long--kinda giving people more bang for their buck in the costume department.  Now at least you can justify getting that cat suit cleaned before wearing it.  Better hurry though, because we've found a ton of activities for grownups, including lots of costume parties and contests.(Parents, don't worry, we'll cover the Halloween festivities for the Wally-wee set in a separate post!) Friday,…

Marcus Eaton @ Babalu

Sunday evening Babalu was host to Marcus Eaton, an extremely talented songwriter and guitar player.  Joined by Kevin Rogers on Drums, the duo played an intimate show to a very attentive audience.  The show was dynamic fusing Rock, Jazz, and Folk influences with finger picking, strumming, live guitar looping, a drum machine, and most importantly a My Little Pony.

Not a chopper

We've gotten a few inquiries from readers along the lines of "What's up with the helicopter circling over Wallingford? Are we in a war zone?" Turns out, it's not a helicopter at all. Instead, it's some enormous pavement grinder grinding pavement on I-5. Dan snapped this picture of it: As long as you're not sleeping, you may as well read more about it on the WSDOT web site.
