The fire started about 11:45 am near the intersection of 40th and Pacific nearly under the I-5 bridge. This grassy, wooded area has been host in recent years to Rent-a-Ruminants as well as a homeless population. It is currently fenced off. I couldn't see how it might have started, but the fire department was there pretty fast to put it out. No injuries or damage (other than to grass, shrubs, etc.) that I could see.

This past weekend dozens of neighbors of all ages re-painted the ladybug (a.k.a. Wallybug) at Burke Avenue North and N. 49th Street.
