As during summers past, GreenStage, with sponsorship from Seattle Parks, KUOW, The Stranger, KEXP, and many others, will be performing Shakespeare at parks throughout the city in July and August. These plays are part of Greenstage’s Backyard Bard series, which features abbreviated versions of the original plays. So if the kids get a little restless, well, it won’t be for too long. The Animal Storm sculpture by Ron Petty, installed in 1985 at the corner of N 45th Street and Wallingford Avenue N, features local wildlife in bronze at the bottom and clouds in aluminum at the top, symbolizing the Wallingford neighborhood’s character. Take a minute and look closely at the sculpture to appreciate the animal expressions and details. One Seattle Day of Service is a citywide volunteer initiative organized by the City of Seattle.
