The Octopus Bar Returns!

The pandemic has cooped us up in quarantine for over a year. With the days getting longer, we are growing itchy for a well-crafted cocktail and snack consumed on a patio! Coming in March: The Octopus will offer indoor and outdoor seating via newly constructed “STREATERIES” on both Bagley and 45th!  Last year, the Octopus Bar bobbed just down the road to its new…

Jazz and bacon

Brunch in Seattle? Hour-long waits; cold coffee; over-priced food; the cacophony of unruly children being ignored by hungover parents. There's nothing like it! Thankfully, there is nothing like this at the Seamonster Lounge's Jazz Brunch. Instead, my wife and I were treated to smooth music and friendly, prompt service. We didn't see a single child there (although they are allowed in the space up to 9pm). Brunch is served Saturday & Sunday 10am - 3pm. The time of music varies depending on Seahawks…

McDonald International School Grand Opening

After two years of ramping up in its interim site at Lincoln, F.A. McDonald International School has moved into its own, spiffy, newly-remodeled building on N. 54th St. at Latona. The school had been closed for 28 years and was in pretty bad shape until now. But starting on September 5, approximately 293 students will walk through its doors to begin a new school year; 112 of which will be Kindergartners. McDonald International is hosting a Grand Opening celebration and open house…
