Seattle Schools has announced its "proposed" fee of $2,720 for full-day Kindergarten during the 2012-13 school year. These fees cover the costs for the non-funded portion of a full day of Kindergarten, half of which is covered by the state. Seattle Schools is asking the Office of Superintendent of Public Education (OSPI) for a waiver for the January 19 and 20 snow days, when Gov. Chris Gregoire declared Washington in a State of Emergency. If approved, Seattle Schools would not have to make up the two days at the end of the school year.
