Wallingford Candidate Debate Recap and Stream

Just in time for filling out your ballots, the online stream of the city council and mayoral debate at Lincoln High School is now live online: The council debate went well but was missing O’Brien and Sawant, which hurt with the ability to do candidate comparisons. I'll be voting for Conlin and Shen because they bothered to show up and acquitted themselves well, while O'Brien thought a fundraiser was more important and Sawant ditched us at the last second to go…

Woodlawn Santa

Sharon (aka the Woodlawn Santa) asked us to pass this along: Hi everyone, This is Santa on Woodlawn. As some of you might know, my husband has been ill for the last few years. Thus my decorations have not been out in my yard. Fred passed away this year. The yard will be dark yet again this year...BUT, hopefully, will appear once again next year. Best as I can tell, Wallingford, at least, is past that: the streets have been filled with roving packs of vampires and robots these past few years. No, there are two things that…

Welladay! Welladay!

I'm always amazed at the bits of uniqueness going on almost every week at the Good Shepherd Center. For example, this Saturday: Nonsequitur's Wayward Music Series is pleased to announce Welladay! Welladay! a collection of wayward love songs for the Chapel Performance Space happening on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 8 PM.Performed in the historic Good Shepherd Center on the wooden stairs leading to the fourth-floor and inside the Chapel itself, Welladay! Welladay! sweeps through 36 James Joyce love poems. Singing children, soprano Betsy Baeskins, and…
