Hamilton Construction Update

Here's the latest news from the folks managing the Hamilton International Middle School remodel.  The aerial shot to the left was taken on December 24. As of the end of December 2009, the skylight has been installed in the east historic gym and finish work is underway on the 3rd and 2nd floor of the historic building, including final drywall, paint, ceiling tiles, wood trim and ceramic tile. Relighting Wallingford

QFC let us know that tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 2nd at 5:00 pm, they will be ceremonially relighting the iconic Wallingford sign that has returned to the top of their store with the near completion of their remodel. They'll also be hosting a BBQ on Tuesday as well, from 2 pm - 6 pm, with proceeds going to the American Red Cross's relief efforts in Haiti.

Hard Times Hit Library (Again)

Been to the library lately?  There's an ominous new sign on the door: Yep, 15 branches of the Seattle Public Library, including our humble yet beloved Wallingford branch, have been forced to reduce hours starting Wednesday Feb. 3rd due to $1.7 million in budget cuts.  So books can now only be had on: Monday, Tuesday 1-8 PM Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 11-6 CLOSED Friday and Sunday Sigh.  You need to trek on over to Greenwood, Northeast or Ballard the rest of the…
