Reminder: Tell us about it

Just a quickie reminder: we're trying to learn more about who you are and what you're looking for out of Wallyhood, so we can make it more relevant and valuable. As a little incentive, we're giving away a 12 oz bag of Wallingford-roasted Pangaea Organica to two respondents picked at random. The survey is short, so take a moment and speak your mind: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/218814/wallyhood-reader-survey The results so far have been eye-opening and fascinating. A few tidbits: 50% of our readers live…

If you’ve ever been ignored…

We cleaned out our Inbox this past weekend (scores of unread and "starred for foll0w-up" messages dating back to early 2008 in there) and realize that we've been dropping a ton of interesting Wallyhood stories on the floor: interesting photos taken by readers, crime reports, personal profiles, tips, all sorts of goodness. We're trying to get back on top of it and now that we're building a strong bench of co-authors, rather than just trying to do it on our own,…

What, no Chanukah?

We've been collecting a good list of holiday goings on, including some Christmas Eve services at local churches and New Year's Eve dinners at all the great Wallingford restaurants (if you've got anything to add to the list, which we'll be posting shortly, please leave it as a comment on our Holiday Haps post). Given all the Christmas and New Year's talk, it's been noted that we haven't mentioned Chanukah, which might seem odd given our decidedly Hebrew religious leanings, and…

Construction on the Burke

Robby D. is wondering about construction blocking off the Burke down by Gas Works, in front of Urban Surf. Radically improving his chances of having his comments published, he included photos! Today I was walking by Urban Surf, and I couldn't help but notice the construction.  It's a big mess, and I was here about a week ago, and I saw the exact same thing.  Never once have i seen a construction worker.  Have they just abandoned the work? Not sure…
