Don’t you love it when you’re out for a stroll, and you come upon some small piece of art that’s been there for ages that you just never noticed? It’s a nice reminder that there’s beauty under our noses at every turn.
We happened past these two bird houses on 1st Ave NE just above 42nd St while enjoying the early bit of summer that visited yesterday. As luck would have it, the lady of the house, R., was enjoying the sun and a book on the front stoop when we came past so we got to chat a bit. Turns out they were built by her father, who lives down in Oregon.
Notice how each bird has a front porch made from a different type of knob? Simple and beautiful.
