Wallingford Resources

  • Post author:

Observant readers may notice some new additions to our navigation bar, most notably a “Wallingford Resources” page. It’s intended as a cheat sheet of useful info for Wallingford residents, their neighbors and those aspiring to be one of the preceding. There you’ll find, among other things:

  • Links to all the civic organizations helping build Wallingford
  • List of kid-friendly restaurants
  • List of restaurants that deliver to Wallingford
  • List of free wifi hotspots

And more. The page is intended to be an organic, curated site, so if you have suggestions of other lists we should keep or items that belong on the lists that are there, you’ll find a form on each page to offer up suggestions.

For example, we decided not to just link to Yelp’s list of “kid-friendly restaurants” because their idea of kid-friendly and our idea of kid-friendly may not be the same. We’d rather hear from Wallingford residents who have actually been there with their kids.

So please, have a look, send suggestions, spread the word and get some use out of it.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
