No, not this big ol’ blog, Big Blog with two Capital B’s. Monica Guzman, the Seattle P-I reporter behind their flagship Big Blog is holding her regular, rotating Big Blog meet-up here in Wallingford at Trophy Cupcakes tonight, Wednesday, starting at 5:30 pm (just as the Farmer’s Market is winding down and just before Art Walk winds up).
Monica has been on the frontlines of “new media” for some time now, blogging and serving on the advisory board of the UW Information School’s Masters of Science and Information Management Program, among other things. She’s well worth the meet if you’re in the area. If you’re a Big Blog reader, it’s a great opportunity to meet the people you’ve seen in the comments section.
For a taste of Monica (no, no, please people, behave!), here’s a 5 minute “Ignite” talk she gave on how to be a great commenter on news stories:

Local dentist in Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle. Lakeside Dental Center - tooth care with Dr. Shokofeh Tabaraie. Create a beautiful dental white smile and straight teeth. Family care practice with surgery catering for white teeth, braces, straight teeth, hygiene, tooth ache, family care, dental problems, beautiful smile, cavity, decay, porcelain veneers, laser, root canal therapy, extraction.
Wallingford architect Michelle Quesada has lived in Wallingford for over twenty years. 'Sustainable practices has always been a part of my practice," she says. "It goes beyond picking fabulous green products: sustainable architecture considers lifestyle choices and the wake we leave as we move through design and construction.”

Monica may be the nicest human being on the face of the earth, too. Anyone a little nervous about these kinds of meetups shouldn’t be. Go!
Yeah Monica’s great. Always nice to see a speaker or performer who is obviously aware of the benefit of brevity.
Way to be part of Seattle’s great neighborhood news tradition Wallyhood.
