Baby Maarten’s Yard Sale — Thanks Wallyhoodies!

This report sent in by Lower Wallingford Correspondent, Chris Witwer.

A few weeks ago, we reported on a then-upcoming Yard Sale to benefit Baby Maarten, a young Seattlite who is suffering from brain cancer.  The sale was a huge success this past weekend, in large part thanks to the generous donations of Wallyhood readers.  Many of you donors asked for an update following the sale.  Here ya go:

While online donations are still rolling in, the cash total so far is over $6,500.   Maaten’s mom, Sasha, is speechless — and grateful.   Sale organizers specifically asked that a “big thank you” be sent out to Wallyhood readers.  Thanks so much to everyone who participated or contributed!

It has taken her four years to begin to understand Seattle humor, but she’s getting there. She lives with her partner, Laura, and two cats — Dolce and Molly, and uses the internet to make fun of stuff on her personal blog, http://felsputzer.wordpress.com.
