Ok, personal and unsolicited testimonial here. I’ve known Sally Bagshaw for almost 20 years, from when she was in the legal department at Metro and then in the Prosecuting Attorney’s office at King County. She is smart and hard-working. Most importantly for me, she is incredibly compassionate and right-thinking. When the Metro bus went off the Aurora Bridge in 1998, she went single-handedly against the PAO to reach out to the people who were on the bus and in the houses below the bridge. The PAO was afraid that reaching out to the victims would admit liability. In fact, it worked out to getting people what they needed to recover — tuition for another quarter at community college when they couldn’t complete the current one, a used car for someone who was too traumatized to ride the bus again, replacement of lost items. She’s exactly who we need on the council.
Still looking for more info on Jesse Israel.
