Peace Concert at Gas Works

The 30th Annual (congrats!) Seattle Peace Concerts are in full swing and coming to Gas Works Park this Sunday, 8/15.

The concerts have been part of Seattle summers since 1981.  Concert coordinator Don Glenn, known as the “Chief” of the Seattle Peace Concerts,  attributes their continued success to the underlying spiritual nature of the gatherings.

As the Seattle Peace Concerts website puts it,  “The concerts are non-political in nature (no speeches) and celebrate peace and the oneness of all people.  AT PEACE.. not just trying to achieve it.  THEY REALLY ARE PEACE CONCERTS!”

Sunday’s musical line up includes:

Noon to six.  Free+music+outdoors+neighbors+great view=WIN!

This year we will attempt to solar power the music. We will plug into the Sun, not the utility. Peace, SolaRichard

Nice, that’s totally awesome SolaRichard. I live just 2 blocks away & am always amazed at the low impact this event has on the park & neighborhood — and now the planet! Have a wonderful concert, and I hope to see ya’ll there!
