Help Save the Home Tour

  • Post author:

Last week, we reported that the Wallingford Home Tour, scheduled for October 3, had been canceled, due to lack of homeowner participation. Today, Weaving Wallingford Director Janet Stillman sent us an e-mail to let us know that the Home Tour’s volunteer organizers recently met to discuss how they could keep the annual tradition going.  They’ve come up with a plan, but they need your help.

The plan is to host the Home Tour on January 9, 2011, if they can get enough homeowners willing to open their homes for public viewing.  If you’re interested, contact Janet by November 1 at the Wallingford Neighborhood Office: [email protected], or ph. 206.632.3165.

The beautiful homes in our neighborhood are a huge part of what makes Wallingford a great place to live.  What’s more, Janet writes that the Home Tour is “a wonderful community-building event and provides critical operating funds for the Wallingford Neighborhood Office – home to the Chamber, Community Council and other Wallingford organizations.”

Seems like, based on the comments from last week’s post, there are some neighbors who’d love to participate!  So if you are, let Janet know as soon as possible.

We opened our home in 2008 and had a great time. I’d encourage anyone who is thinking about it to go for it! It’s a great way to force yourself to clean up and get some of those little projects done.
