Weekend Roundup

  • Post author:

Last time I wrote a Weekend Roundup, I said it wasn’t Fall yet.  Guess I won’t say that this time.  But that doesn’t mean there still isn’t plenty to do around the ‘hood:

  • Friday 5pm-7pm. City Cellars holds informal drop-in tastings on Fridays. This week, they’ll feature “Oregon Other Red Wines.”  Hmmm.  Other?? Or is it Other Red?? Tastings include a flight of up to three wines, and cost $3-$5.
  • Friday and Sunday evenings, 7pm. Art of the Table Supper Club.  $55 for 4 courses, not including tax and gratuity, etc.  Learn more here.
  • Saturday & Sunday, 1pm. Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving at Fremont’s Oktoberfest.  Can’t imagine, eh?  Check out a video here, then click the banner above the beer chick for Oktoberfest details.
  • Saturday 7pm. Greenlake’s Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
  • Saturday 9pm- Sun 2am. The return of the Mycle Wastman Project – Featuring Mycle & Special Guests on vocals @ Babalu, the Mambo Room.
  • Sunday 10am. Fremont Oktoberfest continues with the Brew Ha-Ha 5K and Street Scramble.  More here.
  • Sunday morning. Buster G and associates invite all of Wallyhood to join them on Sunday morning.
  • “Noting that you list religious events in Wallyhood, we thought that the following deserves Wallingford’s attention as well and would appreciate having it added to a forthcoming list:

As members of the Wallingford community of atheists, we are pleased to announce that local nonbelievers will not be engaging in worship services on Sunday morning (or any other morning, for that matter) from now on.  We invite everyone (including believers) to join us in savoring sleep-ins on Sundays.
    Buster G and associates
    never late to church”

It has taken her four years to begin to understand Seattle humor, but she’s getting there. Chris is a bureaucrat by day, and caffeine-fueled blogger when she’s not reading novels or pretending to write one. She lives with her partner, Laura, and two cats — Dolce and Molly, and uses the internet to make fun of stuff on her personal blog, http://felsputzer.wordpress.com.

Hi, I know this isn’t a Wallingford event, but the proceeds do go to help support the Seattle Public Library system, including our own W’hood branch, so please come to the Friends of The Seattle Public Library Book Sale this weekend. It is at Magnuson Park, Hangar in Building #30, 7400 Sand Point Way NE. Audio Visual materials (videos, CDs and audio books) in The Brig, directly east of Hangar 30. Most books are $1, and are half price on Sunday. There’s a separate section for “better” books, prints, etc. that are priced as marked.

Friday, Sept. 24, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m Special preview for members of FSPL: members may buy up to 25 items each. Memberships are $30 at the door, and are different than having a regular library card.
    Saturday, Sept. 25, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Sunday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
