Meeting Rescheduled for Seattle Schools Transition Plan

  • Post author:

Early last month we told you about a series of meetings that Seattle Public Schools scheduled to talk about the New Student Assignment Plan and what sorts of things will happen during the second “transition year”.  One of those meetings, slated to discuss our cluster of schools, was to be held on November 22–the day the big snowstorm hit and closed down the city.

If you’re still interested in attending, the meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, December 13, from 6:30-8 pm at Ingraham High School (1819 N. 135th Street).  This upcoming meeting, along with a more informal “drop-in” session on Tuesday, December 14, from 6 – 8 pm (which will be held at the John Stanford Center), will include a presentation of the plan, a question-and-answer session, and it’ll be a chance to learn more about current enrollment statistics, capacity, and facility needs before the School Board puts the plan to vote on January 9.  It will also provide an opportunity for parents of incoming Kindergartners to learn more about option schools beyond the neighborhood, including Salmon Bay.  More information about these meetings can be found here.
