Community Street Clean-up

A clean Wallingford: by Phinn

Spring is here, or that’s what they tell us anyway.

So it’s time to clean up this little ‘hood.  Time to beautify it for all those lovely evening walks we’ll enjoy this summer.  Time to remove the trash in hopes that taggers will move on to other locales.  Time for the neighborhood to reconvene and catch up with one another.

Whatever your incentive is, it’s time to clean up.

Wallingford Chamber of Commerce Vice President Greg Martin of Oom Yung Doe sent us the following info about the Wallingford community street clean up this weekend:

The Chamber of Commerce is holding a community street clean-up on Saturday April 16th from 10am-1pm. Like last year we will have the plaza at Wallingford Center as the main staging area where people can meet to check in, pick up gear, and choose an area of the neighborhood to clean, and enjoy refreshments.

Last year the Boys and Girls Club brought over 30 kids to help and they expect to have a similar turn out this year.

Thanks to all the community organizations around Wallingford for their support: Wallingford Center, Wallingford Boys and Girls Club, Sustainable Wallingford, Wallingford Community Emergency Preparedness, Wallingford Neighborhood Organization.

Many hands make light work, right?  Saturday 10am, Wallingford Center (directions here).
