Blue Angels in Seattle this week

My orange tabby cat, Molly Ivins, displayed a great deal of courage last month when she didn’t freak out over the Family Fourth fireworks like she usually does.  But the late July thunder just about did her in.

Molly’s next challenge?  The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be in town this Thursday – Sunday for Seafair Weekend.

Flying schedule:

  • Thursday, August 4 – 10am to Noon AND 1:30pm-2:30pm
  • Friday, August 5 – 1:30-2:30pm
  • Saturday, August 6 – 1:30pm-2:30pm
  • Sunday, August 7th 1:30pm – 2:30pm

Sonic booms reverberating off the mountains and hillsides around here can be distressing, and not just for humans.  Please remember to keep your pets safe this week.  As for you  humans, don’t forget I-90 will be closed during flight times.  And the Seattle Police always ask everyone to avoid calling 911 about the noise, even though you might want to!

Your cat has the best name ever! I miss Molly…

Thanks, Jacqui! I love going to the vet & having them call her full name in the lobby when it’s her turn. Someone always snickers.

She is named that because when we first got her, she was always “bitching about the cat in power.” 😉

We were at Gasworks this morning and saw the Blue Angels fly past and then disappeared behind downtown. I didn’t realize they were here this early.

I think they arrive a few days before they actually start “flying” officially.

#7 came in yesterday, and the rest came in today.

Chris, only Obama’s boys are allowed to go BOOM. The Blues get close, but are not allowed to shake things up.

KOMO says they’ll be shutting down I-90 starting at 9:45 a.m. Thurs, and a bit later (11ish, I believe) Friday, plus of course the weekend. So our poor pets have one more day of peace.

Love, love, love the Blue Angels! I lived in Pensacola, FL for five years and they used to practice over our house. Our next-door neighbor was a mechanic for their C-130, the Fat Albert.

My pets have always been distressed by the Blue Angels, but not nearly as much as ME. What a waste of money.

    surprised it took 8 posts.

Could never look at the Blue Angels after I saw one crash at a Dulles show (I was waiting for a plane). Can’t we do something about this dangerous, wasteful show? I recognize the drama, but really?

And I too miss Molly Ivins.

    The Harrier’s are here.
