Thackeray bus re-route cancelled today

Last Wednesday, Margaret told us about the repaving of Thackeray Place, and that Metro buses would be rerouted down 45th last Thursday & Friday, as well as today.

Metro has just cancelled that re-route, so catch your bus on Thackeray as you normally would today!

From Metro: ” The scheduled reroute for Route 26 local & express are canceled for today Tuesday, August 16.  Routes 26 local & express will be on regular route.”

Does this mean the repaving effort is completed not just on time, but early?  Refreshing!

    I’d like to think the next step is painting arrows indicating direction of travel on Thackeray & Latona. Every SDOT employee who works out there acknowledges there’s far too much wrong-way traffic on those streets, often traveling too fast.

    Please, please look both ways before crossing those one-way streets!!
