Thackeray Place to be resurfaced

Updated 1:47 PM with Rider Alert from Metro (see bottom)

Heads-up, Eastern Wallingfordians (most notably, Thackeranians): paving crews will pave Thackeray Place NE between NE 42nd St. and NE 45th Street beginning tomorrow (Thursday, August 11) and again on Friday, August 12 and Tuesday, August 16 from 7am to 7pm (weather permitting).

You may have noticed that the street surface has already been ground down to prepare for the new asphalt. The good news is that the crews will pave one block each day. The bad news is that I can’t tell you which block they’ll do first.

From Metro’s Rider Alert: Construction Reroute – Route  26:

On Thursday, August 11, Friday, August 12 and Tuesday, August 16 from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM, each day, Route 26 will be rerouted off of Thackeray Pl NE between NE 45th St and NE 42nd St, due to construction.

During this time, Route 26 heading toward Downtown Seattle will travel instead via westbound NE 45th St, continue on N 45th St and southbound  Wallingford Av N to its regular route. Heading toward East Green Lake, northbound Route 26 is not affected. Route 26 will serve all posted stops and temp stops along the reroute.

(Thanks for the info, Chris!)
