Reader Coco has been keeping us apprised of places open in the neighborhood and that prompted us to make some calls as well. We’ll add more to this list throughout the day, but as the day goes on, please call ahead before making a trip as many places may close early. Here’s what we’ve got so far:

Andrew tells us that “Rancho Bravo is closed but Pinky’s BBQ across the street is open.”

- We read on My Green Lake’s Storify page that Meridian Market is open.
- Carrie writes, “Jae Hun Kim Tae Kwon Do Institute sent out an email that all classes are cancelled today.”
- *Jennifer Shea from Trophy Cupcakes writes, “Trophy Cupcakes is open today in the Wallingford Center. Come and joins us for cupcakes, coffee and Belgian hot chocolate!”
- Wine World writes, “Wine World is not only open, (we’re) serving tastes of wine FREE ALL DAY noon till 9 pm, including warm spiced red wine!“
- Molly Moon’s writes, “Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream in Wallingford is open today! Complementary hot fudge on all scoops – that’s how we make ice cream cozy for the snow day!”
- Bottleworks writes, “We are open here at Bottleworks till 8.”
- Bartell Drugs just tweeted that the “Rx dept will be closing at 7pm (store closing regular at 9pm.”
- Durn Good – Juliet writes, “We stocked up on the essentials: beer, sausage and tomato sauce 🙂 they plan on keeping regular hours.”
Hardware Stores
Stoneway Hardware tells us, “Hey guys, Stoneway is OPEN and has Ice Melter!”
Tweedy & Popp writes, “Tweedy & Popp is open but is currently out of snow shovels, ice melt, and sleds. Truck with more supplies is coming sometime after noon. Advise calling ahead of time. (206) 632 – 2290 Update 12:30PM: Bad news from Tweedy & Popp: “Our usual Wednesday delivery was originally delayed until afternoon but now will not arrive today (deliveries were partially being handled by common carrier due to adverse weather, local transit center has shut down). We hope to get the goods delivered Thursday morning. Sorry to all looking for sleds, toboggans, snow shovels, etc.”
Bars

Libraries should also be open today, from 1PM – 5PM.

We just ventured out a couple blocks before the snow started packing between the dog’s toes and she wanted home. We’re thinking about Rusty Pelican for a late lunch!

Just slid through the photo-enforced intersection on Stone while trying to brake. Does that mean I get a ticket?
Update – Unfortunately our truck didn’t make it through the pass. We won’t be getting resupplied until tomorrow now.

Just came back from Blue Star, which closed at 3pm for the day.
Mosaic will be open 9-noon on Thursday. Free pastries and coffee for the homeless community. Or anyone else that needs to get in from the cold for a bit. If you see anyone needing to warm up and have a fre bite to eat send them our way.
