Celebrate National Frozen Yogurt Day at Yogurtland

Love Yogurtland? Then get yourself over to the “Blue Spoon Frenzy” at the Wallingford Yogurtland and celebrate National Frozen Yogurt Day.

Monday, February 6 only, starting at 4 pm, the first 200 guests will receive 8 ounces of free yogurt and toppings. The tasty treats will be served in a one-day-only limited edition National Frozen Yogurt Day cup with a collectible blue spoon. (We’re hoping that both are compostable, as are the usual Yogurtland bowls and spoons).

The free yogurt offer ends at 7 pm if the 200 free samples haven’t already been claimed.

Yogurtland in Wallingford:   2320 N 45th, on the NW corner of Sunnyside.  634-2900

This offer may also be available at the Yogurtland stores in the U District, Capitol Hill, and Bellevue.

Barb has lived in south Wallingford since 1992. She's a lady with a lopper as volunteer lead of the Burke-Gilman Trail Urban Orchard Stewards, a group that cares for public fruit trees along the Burke-Gilman Trail between Eastern and where Pacific becomes N 34th. In February 2020 Barb founded the current Friends of Meridian Playground which cares for the fruit trees and grounds of the park and holds weekly volunteer work parties on Wednesday noonish. Friday mornings she joins the Tilth Alliance volunteers to manage the care of the fruit trees at the Good Shepherd learning garden. Barb worked for nonprofit City Fruit for 9 years and still partners with them to teach neighbors to grow good fruit locally. Barb is also accumulating records and photos about the Good Shepherd property for eventual publication online.

It’s cool the regular cups and spoons at Yogurtland are compostable, but do they compost them? There is nothing but trash receptacles in the Wallingford location.

All of the food service items at Yogurtland are compostable, so the “trash” receptacles are by default compost receptacles. The only contamination of the compostable waste would come from customers throwing away something that won’t decompose.
