If you’ve got teens (or ‘tweens) living at home, you have my utmost respect. In addition to that, I’m offering something much more practical: Check out this workshop for parents of teens hosted by FamilyWorks (1501 N. 45th St. ), starting Wednesday, May 2, from 6:30-8:30PM. It’s free and runs for six weeks, through June 6. Call ahead to register at 206-694-6727:

Adolescence can be a time of stresss, turmoil, exploration and change for both parents and teens.  Join with Kim Buehlman, MA, LMHC to talk about dealing with challenges, working toward greater understanding and communication, and learning how to encourage yourself and your teen.  There will be discussion about developmental milestones during teen years, social issues facing teens and how to build trust.  The class is free but donations are gratefully accepted.  The book Positive Discipline for Teenagers by Jane Nelsen is $10, with scholarships available.
