One Reel announced yesterday that all systems are “go” for this year’s Family 4th celebration at Lake Union, thanks in part to Starbucks as the event’s Presenting Sponsor, along with Microsoft and Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce serving as Major Sponsors. This year’s Fourth of July celebration falls on a Wednesday, and on the day after, Starbucks will hold the annual “5th of July Lake Union Cleanup” in which volunteers will pick up all the Fourth of July detritus.
The full event lineup won’t be announced until June, but One Reel is working with the folks at MOHAI and the Center for Wooden Boats to bring music and merriment to both Gas Works Park and South Lake Union Park, including live performances by Pickwick and Hey Marseilles. MOHAI also has plans for an interactive history trivia challenge along the Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop.
