Winemakers Dinner at Cantinetta

You won’t want to miss Cantinetta’s special double Winemakers dinner this Wednesday, May 9, beginning at 6:30PM. Two Italian winemakers will be in the house, pouring their wines paired with a five course dinner.

Giovannella Fugazza will present her wines from Castello di Luzzano — a century-old family winery on the border of Lombardia and Emilia Romana.

Alesia Riccieri will be pouring her wines from the sun-siaked Tuscan estate, Gagliole.
Here’s the five course menu/wine pairings for the evening:

 

  • Chilled Charred ramp soup, creme fraiche, vanilla oil served with Castello di Luzzano Malvasia “Seta” 2010

  • Calamari, olives, preserved tomato foccacia, Served with Gagliole Chianti Classico “Rubiolo” 2009
  • tagliolini, celery hearts,  radishes, tallegio-pinenut fonduta, served with Castello di Luzzano “Romeo” 2006 (2008)
  • Duck sausage, rhubarb, braised rainbow chard, Served with Gagliole Gagliole 2008
  • Pine nut semi Freddo, pine nut cream, probably with Luzzano Sparkling Pinot Noir “Magót”
