Fake Cop Arrested

  • Post author:

According to the SPD Blotter, Ryan James Purdy, the person robbing people in parks by flashing a fake police badge, was arrested Wednesday in Auburn after bragging to a fellow bus passenger about his signature scam. More from the Blotter:

Purdy was riding a bus in Auburn Wednesday when he began chatting up a fellow passenger and mentioned he was wanted by police for impersonating a cop.

The passenger got off the bus and called the real police.

When Auburn police officers arrived, Purdy continued his streak of impersonation, giving officers a fake name in an attempt to convince them he was someone other than a wanted man. It didn’t work, and Auburn police booked Purdy into jail.

Holy Cow. Glad he was a pretty darn dumb impersonator of a policeman. Glad the passenger notified the police.
