Hey, Neighbors! Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you? I do! I do! And not just because I’m making an announcement about Neighbor Appreciation Day (which is this Saturday, February 9)! Honest.

Actually, kidding aside, I want to thank you for helping make Wallyhood the go-to blog for neighborhood events, news and, most importantly, lively, ongoing neighborhood discussion. We’ve had so many readers serve as our eyes and ears, and without you, we wouldn’t be reporting half the stuff that goes on in Wallingford. So, thank you for your tips, and keep ’em coming!

Now, onto our announcement of Neighbor Appreciation Day Activities in Wallingford, this Saturday:

The Wallingford Chamber, Wallingford Community Senior Center, Family Works, Wallingford Center and the Department of Neighborhoods invite you to participate in Neighbor Appreciation Day on Sat. Feb. 9th from 11AM – 2PM with activities at Wallingford Center and other businesses throughout the neighborhood.

Community organization representatives will be staffing a table at Wallingford Center where Wallingford residents can complete Neighbor Appreciation Cards — write a thank-you note to your neighbors, tell a story about something great a neighbor has done for you or just write the name of a neighbor you really appreciate!

The cards neighbors complete for each other will be shared here on Wallyhood.

Businesses, you can participate by offering your customers the opportunity to complete Neighbor Appreciation Cards in your business location. Contact Marjorie Goldfarb or Kathleen Cromp for more information on how you can participate.

You’re still not reporting half of what goes on in Wallingford, but Wallyhood is a great resource. Thanks!
