I was a little disappointed with Cantinetta, though as a parent of young kids, going to any eatery for grownups is a big night out! I liked the ambiance and casual atmosphere of the place, but the food and service left something to be desired. My pasta was way too heavy on the olive oil and my salad was lettuce with dressing (period). Our waitress had an uncanny ability to interrupt the conversation. Good waitstaff is attentive but unobtrusive. The kicker was that the open air kitchen vents into the eating area, which is fine until they fire up the deep fat fryer. It was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I think the wine we had was good though.

We eat here pretty regularly and love the rotating menu and are friends with many of the staff. My wife goes here when I’m out of town for the evening and I’m starting to do the same when vice versa.

All around a great neighborhood place and I never have anything bad to say about the food.
