I’d have a different rating for Ivar’s Salmon House and Ivar’s bar, perhaps. Or the same rating, but for different reasons. The food at the Salmon House is very good, but always feels very expensive for what it is: good NW seafood. The weekend brunch is also quite expensive, but one of the relatively few brunch buffets around, and has something for everyone.

The bar, now that they are continuing happy hour from 3:30 to closing, has pretty good prices on food that includes a bunch of fried seafood; maybe not too healthy, but satisfying. The drinks are uneven: I always have a cosmo, and it varies wildly in color and strength.

Ivar’s always gets an extra half a star for the view, and add another half when the deck is open in the summer.
