Paron's Closet, the new kid's consignment boutique in Wallingford Center, opened their doors today. They'll be holding a "Grand Opening" on Saturday, December 5th with freshly baked cookies and sparkling juice, plus a raffle with "several nice gifts to give away". We stopped in with a small bag of threads Baby Z had outgrown and had a chance to chat with Lisa and Bev, who were still in the process of setting up. This is Kim and Bev's first store, so…

This past Saturday, we heard there was an "Incident at Verity Credit Union" that led to a police cordon of the area, but we didn't have any of the details. I was walking home from work on Monday evening and noticed that the windows are covered with brown paper on the inside. They are normally closed on Monday, so it wasn't unusual that they were closed. Any ideas or news? I sure hope they haven't closed for good - they've been a neighborhood mainstay for…

Harvest Fest @ Wallingford Presbyterian Church

[Ed. note: Matt took these beautiful pictures of the WPC Harvest Festival almost a month ago. We forgot to post the pictures until now.] Harvest Fest at Wallingford Presbyterian Church was held October 25th. Bringing together all the best things about fall for the kids. Pies and other refreshments, pumpkin carving, costumes, a treasure hunt, and pin the tail on the donkey. A great family event to celebrate the changing of the seasons.
