So here's the story we got from a neighbor up by Milano Pizza / Slave to the Needle about Wednesday night's "shooting": Some idiot was showing off his gun in Milano Pizza, took out the clip, then pulled the trigger without realizing that there was already a bullet chambered. New store to open at former Meridian Market site

Wallyhood reader David snapped this picture for us yesterday, showing the new brown paper covering the windows of the space formerly occupied by Meridian Market (2201 N 56th St).  "I'm hoping this means something new is in the works," David wrote. Indeed, it does!  Looks like the space will soon have a new tenant.  EveryBlock Seattle shows a new liquor license application for a grocery store, called the 56th Street Market, to sell beer and wine. Tonight: Wine World’s Grand Opening Party

Did you see the searchlights in the sky last night?  That was Wine World's (not-so-secret) secret grand opening party.  But tonight, they're hosting their official grand opening celebration, from 6-9 PM, and everyone's invited.
