Fall is almost upon us(!), and you know what that means: The Great Wallingford Bratwurst Festival is coming up soon! This neighborhood stalwart event promises fun for young and old alike. It’s not happening until September 18th and 19th, but they are seeking sponsorships (see below).

Wallyhood received the following submission from the St. Benedict Parent Club:

It’s almost that time again—the tents will be going up, the grills will be firing, and the music will be warming up!

The Great Wallingford Bratwurst Festival returns to St. Benedict School on Friday, September 18, from 4 to 10 pm and Saturday, September 19, from 10 am to 10 pm.

This beloved neighborhood tradition brings together families, parishioners, alumni, friends, and neighbors for two days of food, music, family activities, and community fun.

What to Look Forward to in 2026

• Festival favorites hot off the grill—Enjoy bratwurst, hamburgers, pretzels, corn, potatoes, and plenty of other delicious food and beverages.
• Live entertainment all weekend—Local bands and performers will keep the festival lively with music for all ages.
• Family fun—The Fun Zone returns with inflatables, games, activities, and prizes for children.
• Sweet treats—Stop by the Sugar Shack and Sweet Shop for homemade goodies and festival favorites.
• The Book Emporium—Browse a wonderful selection of books, games, and puzzles.
• Local vendors—Shop from local artists, makers, and community businesses.
• The beer garden—Adults 21 and older can relax, raise a stein, and enjoy the festivities.

For more than 40 years, the Bratwurst Festival has been Wallingford’s way of closing out summer in style—bringing neighbors together for food, music, laughter, and community spirit. Proceeds directly support St. Benedict School, helping keep this special tradition strong for the next generation.
