Poet Laureate to read to Wallingford children this Sunday

Former Washington State Poet Laureate Elizabeth Austen will be the guest reader this Sunday at Open Books: A Poem Emporium. She will read for children young and old as part of the monthly Winnie-the-Pooh Reading Series at Wallingford's only all-poetry bookstore. The event will be 11-11:45 a.m. at 2414 North 45th St. Elizabeth Austen's collection Every Dress a Decision (Blue Begonia Press, 2011) was a finalist for the 2012 Washington State Book Award in poetry. Hamilton Middle School portables – a student’s perspective

An article has already been written about Hamilton International Middle School's new additions, but here is an insider's perspective anyway. This is my third year at Hamilton. My experience has always been pleasant and the building itself, though somewhat annoying when I'm trying to reach faraway classes, has been a solid good. Wallingford Bicycle Excursion – Gasworks Park to Montlake Playfield

One of my favorite Wallingford excursions is taking the kids on the bike and going to Montlake Playfield. My route is almost all dedicated trail from my house and so I'm not too worried about the combination of cars and kids and bikes. My family is a lower Wallingford family. A few weeks ago, we packed ourselves into the car to go to Green Lake Library, a favorite of ours. Driving there was awful.
