Missing a Kitty?

Reader Janine sent us the following note: This calico cat has been living on our porch at 43rd and Woodlawn for most of the last two weeks. It’s desperate to come inside and be part of our family, but we are unable to accommodate it. The cat appears to be well fed, though we have never fed it. If this is your cat or if you know anything about it, we would appreciate hearing from you at 206 790 7360 or…

Cat with the Golden Fang

As Rudyard Kipling famously wrote, "Run and find out" is the motto of the mongoose.  Once you get to know an animal well enough, you'll discover its own personal creed. Long-time Wallingford resident Rita Amer has published a delightful new children's book, The Cat with the Golden Fang, whose heroine is an exquisite cat named Marta Petunia. Hugh, an adorable gray kitty, lived a few blocks away and was greatly missed by his family. I was reading the text aloud when our son came bounding out of the house and snatched the paper away. “Why do you have a picture…

Continuing our tradition of reuniting pets with the owners, we bring to your attention today Hugh, who is sorely missed by Ellie and her sister. Ellie writes: All gray with a silver sheen, some white spots on his tummy. Microchipped. Black collar with reflective sides and a large yellow tag. Is an inside cat so he doesn’t know the area. Doesn’t usually meow. His sister really misses him! Missing from 42nd & Sunnyside 206-632-6982 or 206-261-0013

Found Cat

From cats lost to cats found, we got 'em all. Ben sent in this photo of a red-collared cat he found on 53rd between Meridian and Wallingford. Truth be told, he doesn't look all that stressed to us. Hate to get all geeky on you, Ben, but to quote the master: "Not all those who wander are lost".
