Today, we continue our series of interviews with volunteers who make up the strong right arm of Wallingford service organizations.  Volunteers are a vital part of any non-profit organization’s operations, but this has never been more true than over the past two years. As COVID’s impact has left many in our community struggling, local non-profits have had to adapt and adjust their programming to meet the ever changing need. Patrick Long – Historic Wallingford Patrick has always found a way to…

The world has been affected by Supply Chain shortages and that includes Wallingford.  I recently saw empty shelves at Bartell for toothpaste and face masks. Also, Trader Joe was short on eggs. See photos. Please write in with the latest shortages and empty shelves that you have been seeing around the neighborhood.  Thanks!

Wallingford will not be able to avoid Climate Change.  There is a worldwide consensus by professionals who study climate that we are in the midst of a massive change.  If you disagree, let us know and share your evidence. Wind Down in Tangle Town – At The Still Point Massage Therapy

Just down the street from the Tangle Town Public House, MKT and Zoka Coffee, a different form of stress release joins the Tangletown community. The Still Point: Massage Therapy moved into the neighborhood in October. With COVID cases down and pandemic anxiety still looming large, I nervously ventured for my first massage in many years. While it has been a while since I've had a massage, I am not a stranger to massage therapy, but during this difficult times, looking for…

Wallyhood Wine Wanderings

(Editor's note:  Some of you—perhaps our one other regular reader besides the other editors—may recall that a few weeks ago, Wallyhood did a feature on Sound Goods and its co-owner, Jennifer Kline Shernoff.  In the interests of expanding our coverage as well as our stable of writers, we invited Jenn to begin writing about wine with a neighborhood focus.  She's embraced that invitation, and her first article follows.  Stay tuned for more wine-focused musings from our Wallyhood vintner!) By Jennifer Kline…
