Green Lake Summer Water Camps Still Available

Green Lake isn't really Wallingford…but it’s close! And as such, many of us take advantage of its proximity and amenities to enjoy one of Seattle's favorite parks. One of my old parental colleagues, Tami Oki (our kids went through John Stanford International School, Hamilton Middle School, and Ingraham High School together, quite a long time ago), sent a note about summer camps at Green Lake sponsored by Seattle Parks & Recreation. Though now aptly named The Lake. The walk north in the direction of Green Lake is fairly linear, though not for long, as my dog and I make our way through North Wallingford and into Tangletown, so named because of the deviation from the city's typical grid pattern, creating a “tangle” of streets.…

With the departure of Theo Chocolate from the Fremont scene back at the end of 2023, there are chocoholics among us who may have been suffering withdrawal symptoms. Those folks can now rest easy with the arrival of Spinnaker Chocolate to Stone Way. Spinnaker had previously operated a shop in Ravenna, which they closed in April. They opened up at 3509 Stone Way N around mid-May, although they consider themselves to be in a “soft-opening” phase at least until early June.…
